RKC whitewall tires
 

I'm gonna be buying tires shortly for my 2012 RKC.I'm wondering if there is much difference in the HD whitewall Dunlop and the Dunlop American elite tire.I'm not too hip on the grip of the oem tires,they are not too grippy,but the only other choice is the other Dunlop and Shinko which are backordered until Oct.Has anyone ran the American elite?

Not any help here, but I went with OEM replacements when it was time... Overall happy with them given the few choices out there for the 2009 RKC

This year I'm running the American elite and have been happy with them.

Can you tell any difference vs. the stock Dunlops?

What about rolling with Metzeler's? I'm running 880's and dig them. The feel MUCH better than the stockers to me and no way I was ditching the WWW's!!!

I would love to try something else,but my back tire is wider than yours and Dunlop has a monopoly on this size in wide whitewall,180/65/16.I do have some options for the front tire though.Great looking bike by the way!

Tell you the truth I never had an issue with the stock so I don't see any difference between those and the elite.

Been running the BW version of the AE for the last 10K miles and I really like them. Handle better than the OEM and seems like they are going to last longer.

Can't help you out with the American Elite. Was very happy with the ride and performance of the stock www Dunlop in all kinds of weather. I replaced my rear tire with the same brand at 14k miles. I was happy to get 14k as I travel a lot fully loaded with a passenger and gear.
