I picked up my new '13 Ultra Limited today. I used to have an '05. I don't remember the seat being this uncomfortable. Of course, maybe my *** changed.

I was curious if there were other Ultra owners who felt similar.

What seats should I look at? Mustang, HD? Any particular model?

My wife and I like the stock seat..... after I had a Mean City Cycles mod it.

 

I have a 2012 Limited. I thought the seat was just OK when new, but after 12k in the saddle it is comfortable now.

 

I love the stock seat on my 2012 Limited. Many 500 plus mile a day trips with no issues. Is the Ultra seat the same as the seat that comes on a Limited? Maybe I've gotten used to it but it seems that it's always been comfortable on this bike and the 2010 I had before this one. If the bike sits in the sun and the seat gets hot it will make you sweat and that's uncomfortable or maybe your *** did change.

 

Just bought a used '09 Ultra w/15k miles with stock seat. It sucks!!!!!!

 

Man I tried lots of seats and ended up having a gel pad put in the stock seat to keep momma happy. At My end of the seat it crushed down and I was sitting on the pan. Gel did not make it any softer, just keeps me from settling down to the pan. Tried a Mustang: Too hard. Tried a Corbin: Liked it but wife hated it as the passenger seat is sized perfectly for a gal with a 14 year old's butt. Tried the Harley Sundowner: Loved it, but once again, the wife hated it. Larger seat area for her, but still too hard. It had a "memory" type foam that conformed to your butt and supported you everywhere. That would be my suggestion. Very comfy. They have demo seats at the dealer you can test ride.

 

I really love mine. 63000 miles on my 2010 proves it. Actually had mine done by mean city cycle on my 09 and went back to a stock seat.

I was going to have the seat modified by Mean City Cycles with memory foam but that was 3 years ago. I have put in several 400+ mile days with out a problem. Of course at my age if I know the ride is going to be over 200 miles I take an aspirin before I start out and one every 4-5 hours. I do sit on one of the Harley air circulating cushions when it is hot out to get a little air under my butt.

 

I like the stock seat on mine...long rides aren't a problem.
