Load Equalizer Needed If Only Using LED's In Rear?

I deleted my front turn signals & have a Harley module to make my rear turns to be turns/running/brake. If I add LED's to rear turn/brake/running will I still need a load equalizer?

I don't know about some brands but I didn't need a LE with Custom Dymanics on my SG. But I needed them for Alloy Arts strut signals on the ST. $14.00 at O"Reilys for a package of two.

My guess is you will. Just the back and my signals blinked normal, once I added the front they started blinking fast.

I have Custom Dynamics r/s/t LED lights on my Blackline. They said I needed the load equalizer, so my dash light wouldn't flash fast. I found out from CD, that without the wire, the dash flashes fast but the lights themselves blink normal. So, I left it off.

With just rear lights, I'd say you can try it without it and see what happens. CD has a great customer service and if you e-mail them, they can answer your questions. They did for me.

i've always heard that if you put leds in either the front or the back, you won't need a load equalizer. but do both and you will. now in your case, that might be different because since you completely deleted the turn signals, the ecm has nothing to base it's resistance readings on

i put a set of moonshinez on the front of the wife's bike leaving the stock incandescents in the rear and they work just fine.

Without the front turn signals, I would think you would.

Sometimes if you only do one set (front or back) and leave the other, the one bulb in combination with the led will have enough resistance. With no bulb in the front, I would think you would need it.

I would think that if you removed your front turn signals you should have hyperflashing now?

My 2011 Ultra was fine with led's in rear and bulb in front. When I changed front to led's had to add an equalizer. Went with the Biketronics equalizer. Its a bit higher than some but was a simple plug in under the seat. Be sure and check their plug configuration as they have several models and were not much help which fit my Ultra. Surprised me a bit for not knowing which model of their product fit one of the most common bikes on the road.
