Default 17" front wheel on 2011 Street Glide

I have a 2011 Street Glide that I bought new. I have 23k miles on it and ordered a new Dunlop American Elite to match the back tire. I thought the front was a 130/70/18 inch tire as it says in my owners manual. I took the front wheel off of the bike and guess what. I have a front wheel off of a 2010 as the tire is a 130/80/17. The front wheel is original and has never been changed. Has anybody ever heard of Harley doing this. I'm happy with the mileage I got out of the tire but I didn't get what I thought I was buying.

Never heard of it, and it does actually surprise me. I have always likened them to GM, but that sounds more like a Ford move if they did "use" up nos just to get rid of inventory.

Take it to your dealer and see what their take on it is, just for ***** and giggles.

2009 = 130 / 80 / 17
2010 = 130 / 70 / 18

That 17" tire is what the 09's came with.

I would make them change it, no excuse for that.

Rear tire was replaced at 14k, still good at 23k.

On my way to Dealership so they can explain why a 2009 wheel is on my 2011. That's normal will probably be their answer.

10 was the change from the 17 to the 18 for the SG's.

You got an 09 wheel as sanman pointed out.
I think RK's are still 17's.

Many of us, including myself have sold our 17's as we like the way the 18 tucks in the fender a little nicer.

I have a set of wheels I just took off my 2012 SG. Just saying, they have roughly 4800 miles.

I headed to the Dealership ready for a fight. They listened to me, shook their collective heads and headed to the general manager's office. To my shock they came back out with a brand new (take off) front wheel. I'm still in shock.
