2 things the new touring bikes don't do

first I need to say, I really like the upgrades to the new bikes

but......

First - you cannot remove the tourpack on that limited / Ultra
the turn indicators are in the lightbar of the tourpack so unlike the 13 and previous models, if you take your tourpak off, you have no turn signals on the rear of the bike

Second - many folks with baggers have recently gotten into better audio on their bikes, and many of them have speakers in their lower fairings, well that space is taken up (but hopefully for a good reason)

so if either of those things are important to you, better get your ass down to the dealer and work a deal on a 13

I'm pretty sure a work around can be found for the removable tour pack. The speakers on the other hand may be a bit more difficult.Maybe just put better speakers in the fairing. Will the Ultra still be available without liquid cooling?

Limited, Trike and CVO Limited are the only models this year with the twin cooled motor.

right, but how long before the entire line up is that

I see nothing but improvements. I don't feel the lower speakers are going to be a big deal with the increased power in the audio. As far as removing my tour pak goes, I have thought about it from time to time but it seems as if I'm always using it for one thing or another. I guess that if you want to have the street glide profile you'll have to own a street glide and buy a tour pak for it. All things considered the new limited looks like a home run in my opinion.

Whats up with the rear fender filler panels on the Electra and Road King? Street Glide has the regular panels. Special purpose?

Third, the lowers are not removable.

Fourth, you cannot change tire size.

Fifth, the H-D coolant is $22.75 a quart.

Sixth, working on the new models will be much more time consuming. What used to be a four hour job will likely now be an eight hour job.

But, the new chrome water pump cover makes up for all of that.:icon_laugh:

It's my understanding that the tour packs will still be removable. If you look close the open spaces on the ultras are set up to accept CVO style signals.

I was wondering that also. Was curious if it was a air duct to aid in the movement of air down the side of the bike. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person.
