2014 FLHXS walkaround

Just brought her home yesterday. Blackened Cayenne Sunglo.

31 miles and raining today...what a bummer.

If you want close ups of anything I can try and oblige.

What are the 6 buttons on the lower dash panel for ? The older models had 4 buttons. Also, it looks like they changed the handlebar controls for the radio, cruise, etc .... they look more sturdy.

Congrats on the new bike, I like it a lot.
The front fender needs to be dropped down some, and
the tank badges changed out...other than that, it's awesome!
Let us know more about it once you get some seat time in.

You are correct. Six switch slots now instead of four. Not a one has a switch in it... No longer a switch there for cruise. it's incorporated in the hand controls now.

The hand controls are definitely different and will take some getting used to. Found out yesterday that the grips the dealer had on the shelf wont fit the 14's. They called the mothership and confirmed a change in grip design will be needed.

About the fairing vents. Can those be closed?

Sam2010 08-29-2013 03:53 PM

Fairing vents do close

Did you get that from Columbia Harley in Vancouver,WA? I lived in Vancouver for about 30 years! Left about 4 years ago to live on the dry side. LOL

Was it only me or did anyone else expect some Karaoke lyrics to pop up on that screen!

Joe_C 08-29-2013 08:40 PM

Nice ride. Congrats.

Sweet ride !! Congrats !

Looking at the speaker enclosures, now it makes sense why the owners of the '14's say the sound system is louder then on previous models. The sound now is directed forward out of the inner fairing and not bouncing around inside the fairing. That right there makes a big difference. I used the thin plastic enclosures they sell on e-bay on my SG and also noticed better sound, especially at speed.

Congrats to you...why not ride in the rain...is your new bike gonna melt?? :D

Saw the blackened Cayenne at the local dealer. That is the best color I've seen in awhile.

Congrats on the new bike.

TWIN CAM 96 08-31-2013 03:38 PM

I just bought the 14 as well in Morocco Gold Pearl. I'm loving it but still have a lot of questions about the infotainment the the dealer couldn't answer.

For all of you lucky 14 riders is there any change in the shifting? Is the Harley clunk gone?
