I'm interested in this as well.I like the Zumo but crap it's expensive.I'd like to have it mounted directly in front of me so I don't have to take my eyes off the road for long.The only fairing mount I've seen from Harley is off to one side, do they have a center mount for it?What is the advantage of having it installed or hardwired in?Also how good is the MP3 player? could I get by with a Zumo only for tunes and GPS?

Do regular Garmins like the Nuvi have MP3 capability?

Dude, you have a smart phone--it's smart and has great capabilities. I have the same phone and I absolutely love it and use it heavily. I use a variety of different GPS programs--why because they're there. My goto GPS is Scout which offers so many features.

I say, before you purchase a stand alone GPS, just check out the GPS applications that you can use with your phone. You may find one that suits your interests. If not, go and spend a few hundred dollars on a stand alone.

Brother Special Ed mentioned the fact of not taking his eyes off the road while riding and he's 100% correct. I use another program called: Car Home Ultra. With this app, I can put 6 different apps on the same screen and can access any of them with the touch of a button. So, on the main screen, I have IHeartRadio so I can stream music from all over the country; Scout--my GPS program; PowerAmp--which is a sick MP3 player that makes your music sound like you're in a club; my phone app; a voice search app and an exit to the program. This is 2013, technology is here. If you paid for a smart phone, use the great capabilites that it holds.

I got a 660 for my 13 limited,my worst da$@ problem is,i can't make up my mind how i want to mount it!!! Either fairing mounted(inner fairng painted)part of me hates drillin holes in it or handle bar mount! HHHHeeeeellllllpppp

Depends how you plan to use it. On my Road Glide, I use the Zumo 660. You can set miles to next stop, all Harley dealers are programmed in, can download trip planner routes from Harley's website, etc. Its water proof and can be mounted on the bars or fairing and integrates into your audio system.
On my Road King, I just zip tie a regular car gps and plug it into an aux power port. I took the rk on a cross country ride with this gps, got it rained on a few times and never let me down.

I just added a cheapo Garming Nuvi 30 (85 bucks on amazon), hard wired to battery. Simple, cheap, effective


Mounted to we're the mirror stems go. Got the metal mount from ebay.
