Default Retrofit 2014 saddle bag lids only

I was looking at the 2014 and comparing mounting of the saddle bag lids.
The bikes were not side by side, but the mounting hardware locations looked
the the same.

If I can order the painted lid and hardware and be good the go . . .

Anyone look in to this closer?

Can't see how this would be possible. Too many changes.

I believe the 2014 bags are larger in capacity, which may mean the lids are not interchangeable. I have both early Evo and recent saddlebags and Harley have been very clever. Despite the fact they look very similar the newer ones are significantly larger. I also have 5 and 6 gallon tanks and the same comment applies, they look very similar, and yet when studied more closely the differences become clearer.

We have confirmation that the whole 2014 bags will retrofit, but it may be optimistic to hope the lids will fit the previous generation of body. It'll be interesting to see what others say!

I'm wonder if the mechanism can be retrofitted versus the entire lid?

come on guys!!!!!!!!!!!!! who here really thinks Harley is going to let you update your bike without buying new lids, the hardbag itself, and all the hardbag mounting hardware! The new bags are wider so the lids cannot be interchanged,AND the pin locks that hold your hard bags to the bike are not in the same location which means you have to purchase the hardbag mounts as well. don't forget about the new hinge, lever, and both of the lid latches and the cable assembly that connects the two latches together. lets not forget about Harleys first priority $$$PROFIT$$$

Partially wrong... You CAN switch out the entire bag itself. I have done it on an '07 and it fit PERFECTLY! Now, just gotta shell out all that dough to get em. LOL

Good man! It's our duty as responsible Harley owners to prove that new stuff can be retrofitted, with a little effort. Been doin' that myself for many years!

Just put a set of 2014's on my 2011 RKC with saddle bag guards - not problem - they look a little longer with the SBG on but don't touch.

no you can not use the new hardware on old lids. the way they attach is different and they are shaped to the curved lids not flat

What was required to accomplish this?
