Question on Yaffe Monkey Bars and aftermarket grips
I just had a set of 12.5" Yaffe Monkey bars put on and I use Avon grips.
I heard that these bars are good with HD grips, but weren't a great fit with others. There is about an inch space on the left side between the Avon grip and the part of the bar that accepts the grip to where it gets thicker. The right side is fine.
Does the bar end need to be cut, or will HD grips go on to the end?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I usually don't have the dealer do anything, but they do a ton of these bars and I had a credit. This blows. I'll call them tomorrow.

is it just me, or does this member's bike have a gap on the left side there too?

Update:
I went into another HD dealer and asked the service mgr. if he ever saw this gap on the left side with the monkey bars and an avon grip. He said "never" .
So I purchased a set of HD grips and went over to the indy who usually works on my bike.
In 5 minutes he had both sides flush against the thick part of the bars with the Avon grips. It was ridiculous how easily he did it too.
I paid over $900 in LABOR (and a set of wire extensions) to put the Yaffe's on along with the pre-purchased braided cables and pre-purchased Avon grips. The bars were pre- ordered and paid for over a month ago.
A ONE INCH gap on the left side and a 1/8" gap on the right side, a surface scratch on my tank from removal, and paint that looked like showroom condition when I brought it in, looked like they waxed it with a Hershey bar, it was so smudged up.
I totally felt like a dick even posting this after I saw what a little patience did to fix it, but I see it's not an uncommon problem. If I knew how to post pics, I would post the "After" version.
I believe there's no reason to have a gap of any kind with Avon Grips or any other grips if it's done correctly. I put a few different brands of grips side by side and they all seemed to be the same size.
Thanks for all of your input. Ride Safe.
