Default New HD 7" windshield on a 2014

I found the new 7" dark tint windshield for the 14 Limited over the weekend. Good news is the vent still does its job in keeping the air off me. A little over the top around top of my head, but that's what I wanted. Will use the stocker in the cold winter months but the 7" looks a lot better on the bike. Again, the vent does an amazing job in reducing buffeting, even with a shorter windshield on the Limited.

I added the 7" windshield the other day too. Its been pouring down rain so havent had a chance to check it out, but i had a 7" on my 2010 SG and it worked perfect, i like the looks of it better than the 4".

I ran the Klockwerks 6 1/2 on my 09 Street Glide for years and loved it. Our bikes (14's) will not take a 13 windshield as holes are different on the fairing. LRS has one available but I found their quality was not as good as some other makes. The HD 7" should be sweet on your glide with the vent open. Sure the other vendors will catch up with new shields before long.

I installed the Klockwerks 6.5 on my 14 SGS

Just have to take a dremel to cut out the vent area (using the new shield as a template). Drill out 2 new holes for each end.

It will work, BUT the shield is 1/2" short on each end. But even the 4" stock shield actually works now that the vent is there. I actually put it back on. Will use the Klock when it is cold.

Looking to purchase the HD 7" for my 2014 SG. I'm 5'10 and when I hit 70 mph my glasses go crazy and I have to hold onto them with one of my hands. Did you have a similar experience with your stock shield and if so, how much better is the 7"?

I wear prescription glasses when riding. The stock shield on the SG came off the day I bought it. The 7" will be a major improvement for you. I am 6ft and the air with the vent open is right at the top of my helmet. I like being able to easily look over a shield. The stocker on my Limited was right at eye level and reason I went with a shorter one. Again with vent CLOSED you are going to get blasted pretty good. With it open you will be very comfortable.

Ok thank you for the info. I gotta be honest though, I don't feel much of a difference whether the vent is open or closed. Maybe just a little around my nose. Did you get the 7" windsplitter?

I'm 6'2" and found the 7 inch was still a little short of what I needed. Harley has a light tint 10" that works great with no buffetting and I look just over the top on my 2014 Street Glide.

I thought I would open this back up since most shield company's have now come out with a shield for the 2014. Looking for opinions on what shields are working the best with the vent.
