What's your experience with Police bikes (FLHTPI's)?

Occasionally, I'll see, what appear to be, some good deals on Police bikes here in the Mitt. What's your experience with Police bikes (FLHTPI's)? I'm sure there are some on here that search these out in auction and some that probably say "stay away". I want to hear the good and the bad because I've been trying to keep an eye lately.

Thanks

Bought a 2006 FLHP-I in 2012, great condition ran and handled super until I traded it a couple weeks ago. That air ride police seat is the most comfortable one I ever had including my 2011 FLHTCUSE6 at $38K

My experience with police bikes is limited to seeing them in my rear view mirror with lights flashing followed by a side of of the road conversation. So, not good.

That's what I've heard about those seats. What kind of condition was yours in when you first got it?

You can be sure they get serviced on a strict schedule. I'd probably swap out the clutch and check out the brakes. Most of the bikes around these parts are going to be all Road Kings. No frills or flash to them, but they will probably have the heat management system on it, it'll also have a proxy switch so you can't start it in gear with the side stand down. You can have fun with them. Some of the cops will tell you to steer clear of them, but you can rest assure that the guys riding them know what they are doing. They will probably have a few scars on them as well.

I'll also add that I'm not a fan of those solo air seats. I did not find them comfortable in the least.

Have you checked out Wolverine? They had one or two not that long ago, I don't think it had the air seat though, but it did have the 103" in it and it was I want to say around an 08 or 09.

I'm on my third cop bike Love them, however all of them were low mileage "demo" models never put into service. Great platform to get a bike the way you want it.
