Help with Slight Oil/Tans Oil Leak

Found a few drops of oil on the garage floor, Tracked it down and it looks like it's coming from the clutch cable, or where it goes in to the trans. What is the fix for this???

I do have 10" apes with the stock cable (had them on now for 2 years with no problems, but on lock to lock turns it does pull the cable snug.

could be the O ring on the clutch cable.

check that level is correct- not higher than marked on dipstick

check the tranny vent is open too- if blocked, pressure will build and the lube will be more likely to push out.

Sometimes the cable itself leaks too, not at the O Ring but 6 or 7 inches down toward the lowest point on the motorcycle. The oil has entered the cable and passed through the sheath to the outer wrap and will sometimes drop a drop or two. ( Not worth replacing the cable though IMO.)

AHH-HAA, I think you got it. The sheath is where it is collecting. This will give the the excuse to buy a longer cable so I can route it through the fairing again. I will wait until winter to change it out.

Thanks for the replies!

Before You Buy A New Clutch Cable, Check The Torque on The Two Bolts Holding The Exhaust Mounting Bracket Near Your Clutch Release Cover. These Bolts Also Snug The Transmission Cover And If Lose Will Leak 75/90 All Over Your Garage Floor. Had The Same Problem And It Drove Me Nuts Until I Found It.

First I would check that the cable end is tight in the housing

That's what I was going to say. Common issue.
