Can't wait...

I totaled my 2010 Ultra Limited on 8/3. It caused serious nerve damage and spiral fractures to my right tibia and fibula (lower leg). I ended up with a nine inch plate on my tibia and a dozen screws to hold it in place. Two months later, I'm out of my fracture boot and walking (sort of), but with the brace I'll be getting next week and a few more weeks of physical therapy, I'll be riding my new 2014 Ultra Limited. Having it sitting in the garage is the best inspiration I can think of to work through therapy so I can get my happy ass back in the saddle! I can't wait!

Glad you're on the mend!

Good luck healing and glad to hear you have a new scoot ready and waiting!

Looks like you'll have the winter to add a bunch of stuff and best of luck with the return!

Heal fast and heal well, then get back in the saddle and enjoy your new ride!

I feel your pain! I was T-boned on 9/10. Thankfully, my injuries aren't as bad as yours (dislocated shoulder, bi & triceps muscle tears and a sprained ankle), but I'm not going to be able to ride for a couple of more months. I had an 11 SG with about $8K in mods. I replaced it with a 14 limited like yours. Got it delivered this week and it has a whopping 14.5 miles on it. I go out there every day and look...

Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Great color choice LeeH. Sorry to hear it will be a couple more months before you can ride your new Limited. Mine has a whopping 18 miles on it. It was just delivered this week. I did take it for a ride around the block, but I didn't feel I had good enough control of the rear brake pedal yet. I can hold the bike up tilted pretty far to the right, even with a passenger. But that was on flat ground with good footing. I'm concerned about stopping on uneven ground or loose gravel and having my ankle buckle. The new brace should help take care of that. Physical therapy has really helped alot already after only a week. I think I may be riding on short rides in 2 - 3 weeks.

Good luck to you! Have fun on that new ride, but be careful!!!!!!!!

Good luck in speedy recoveries for both of you.

Congratulations on the new Limited, and get well soon! I totaled my Heritage SoftTail Classic back in 2007. Two weeks after the accident, I was in my garage with the new bike, struggling to remove the mufflers with a broken collarbone, broken ribs, right arm in a sling, and a belly full of oxycodone! Some things just can't wait.

glad you will be riding again but there are easier ways to get a new bike

The waiting was killing me, so today I took my new 2014 Limited out for my first ride since my accident. Today is 2 months and 2 days since I broke my leg. I bought some new riding boots that give really good ankle support. At first, I stayed close to home in case I had problems with my leg and foot. It turned out that the boots gave me the support I needed and my trip around the block turned into a 50 mile ride. This 2014 Ultra Limited is awesome! The buffeting issue is gone. The difference in the heat coming off the engine is really noticeable from my 2010 Limited. It is much cooler. My 2010 even had the Fuel Moto ceramic coated head pipes, while my 2014 still has the stock head pipe with the Cat in it. I shut down the bike with the Kill Switch and rolled the throttle on about halfway as some other people on the forum have suggested. My cooling fans came on and stayed on for several minutes until I shut off the ignition switch. No coolant puking issues today for me. I'm hoping that is just an issue for a small percentage of new bikes due to a bad batch of parts from a vendor. For those that do have that problem, I hope they get it sorted out soon for you.
