Default ESP Tire Coverage Question

I have used the ESP on my 2010 CVO SG for a couple of small things, nothing major yet (and I am OK with that!). The local dealer here has been great. I took the bike in once for vibration when braking and they added a spacer to the floorboard because it was hitting the exhaust on braking causing the vibration. Pipes were V&H but there was no charge. I am very satisfied with how the ESP is handled at my local dealer but I do have a question on the tire coverage.

Has anyone used the wheel and tire coverage? How does it work and is it worth the cost? I have it now but not really sure what it covers or how, especially as it relates to tires.

covers wheel damage due to road hazard and tire damage;ie, nail in tire, and alike. However tread depth must be no lower than 4/32 to have tire replaced. Any lower than that and they will not replace tire. If you want tire replaced with tread lower than 4/32, It will be replaced on your dime!

It covers free repalcement of the wheel or tire if damaged. I recently had my rear tire replaced after obtaining a large hole coming out of Chicago. The tricky part was finding a dealer that honored the warranty purchased with the bike at the local dealership here in Jacksonville. The only stipulation to getting the tire replaced if damaged, is that it has to have at least 2/32 tread left.

Interesting, when I called the warranty company trying to find a place to get it replaced, they told me 2/32, iirc.

my understanding of the tire and wheel coverage under the old contract is that if you have damage (talking tire only) and more than 3/32 of rubber the tire gets replaced free of charge.

if you have less than 3/32 then you needed a new tire and it is not covered.

Under the new contract, which i have been told has a $50 deductible (not sure i have old contract), its the same process but you have a $50 deductible.

Never used it on a wheel, so can't comment on that.

Can't speak to the new one (if there is such a thing) but the ESP I purchased in May offers no-deductible replacement for damaged wheels and punctured tires with at least 3/32" of tread left.

The line is in fact 3/32.

Every Harley dealer honors the warranty.

I have had to use this from time to time. I was on a trip with a new rear tire in Kentucky one summer, 114 degrees and humid out... ran something over and blew the rear. 4:30pm on a Saturday.
Called Man O'War HD in Lexington and they sent a recovery truck, stayed late and got me fixed and set me up in a Hampton Inn for $39.
I'll never roll wothout the warranty again.

I don't know what the cost is because I got the whole package when I bought mine and didn't ask. I've had 1 front rim, 1 front tire and 3 rear tires replaced at no charge. I've been very pleased with it.

Don't quote me but if you're away from home and have to stay the night because of wheel/tire repair I think they will reimburse you for the hotel.

from what I have herd and been told....
You go to your dealer when your tire is close to needing to be replaced.
Park in there parking lot, install screw into tire, go inside and tell them you have a flat.
Tire gets replaced....
