Getting ready to put the bike away for winter. For the last month it has been getting quite noisy in the top of the motor. I have 55,000kms on my 2010 road king. I am going to take the top off and check the rockers. If they need replacing I will probably replace with roller rockers. Any brands any better than another and what else should I look at replacing. This is a stock 96 engine so I don't know if rollers are overkill or not. I hear that they last a lot longer and I am not planning any other mods. All opinions are appreciated as this is my first Harley.

Roller rockers are better, they reduce friction wich reduces heat and make more power. The cost is way high, I can buy a set for my race car, 16 roller rockers for less then the cost of 4 for my Harley, I have 63k miles on mine and they are fine, you might want to look at the lifters causing the noise, I replaced mine and that made it much quieter, get a good quality lifter and I bet your noise goes away.
I put the S.E roller rockers in my '07 Nightrain when I did the Stage 4 kit on it, along with the forged rocker stands. Seems to work pretty well. Pricy but works well. Might be over kill for a fairly stock engine.
I put S&S roller rockers in my 103 upgrade just because I had them left from another build I never put together. But they are really overkill for much of anything under .600 lift. They were never designed for high mileage riders.
All motors make noise. Some more, some less. Dont do the roller rockers. S&S makes a nice forged rocker with 3/4 bushings. Look at Woods rocker supports. They move the pushrods closer to center. They are offset .030 Check your rocker side movement.
thanks for all the advice. I will be looking at changing the lifters as well. Don't know until I take it apart to see all what I need. This roadking I will be keeping for a long time so I don't mind spending the extr $$$. I will check out the SE ad S&S rollers as well. I will check out the Woods rocker support. Did not know they made them. Thanks again
I wouldn't worry about putting in rollers for a stock twin cam motor. Older motors are a different story due to the angle of the pushrods. At that mileage I would replace the lifters. Most likely the source of the extra noise. JMHO
Roller Rockers work great, but not to cost effective on a street enigen. That being said
if get some you want full roller bearings on the rocker shafts for less heat and friction.
