Default What's the secret?

So I am installing apes... not going too bad I might say, until I ran into a block. Now I know from my searches that running internal cables is PitA! I am trying to run the throttle side, but can't get the TBW all the way through... even when I pull it solo. I thought running the the clutch side was going to be the bad one, boy was I wrong

Bike: 2009 Ultra Classic
Bars: LA Choppers Twin Peaks

So my question before I bring it to the local bike shop to have then wire it... What's the secret to running the TBW?

I had to cut the plug off my tbw and solder/shrink tube to make it fit in my monkey bars. I also used wire pulling lube from Home Depot to help it all slip through.

There is plenty of dish soap inside my bars, but as I am thinking I remember reading something about that green clip. It seems that is having problem making the turn.

Patience.

High-strength fishing line to use a pullers

Patience.

KY/vasiline....coat the harness with some of it to help it slide down the tube & around corners.

More patience.........

Oh, needle-nose pliers to pull apart the plug ends.
And make sure you label the wires so you put them back together in the right order.

Oh, and lots of patience.

I cut out the green plug as well but there are some on here who don't condone it. Many have done so without any problems. You could also buy the SE TBW for $100 and it has no green plug. Vaseline works wonders on wire pulling.

When installing bars I generally suck a string through with a shop vac and then use it to pull the wiring through the bars. I remove the plug and fold the wires back in a staggered pattern then tape them down. This is a much more clean way than cutting and soldering wires.

I then use a little bit of lubricant like they use for pulling wires through conduit. I bought a bottle of it from a local electrical supply house and don't use any more than I have to, then just wipe off the excess as much as possible when compete.

I had a few 3 foot long HVAC zipties and used that to pull the wires through. Bendable enough to fit through any twist and turn but strong enough to withstand pulling. Also stiff enough to be able to push and pull to try and fit the tight spots.

I used a piece of small plastic wire casing line and used a push pull method and three tries and some grease
