[QUOTE=Mike;12177128]I kept my bike stock, too. It's a 2007 Road King Police, formerly in sheriffs green color.

I make a couple of cosmetic changes to it, using Harley parts, so it's still mostly stock, or at least it's just like OEM. Not OEM exactly, but using OEM parts, which is almost the same thing. And I upgraded the motor to a 107, but using the stock jugs, just bored out a little, and some CP high compression pistons. And I added a 5.5" wide rear wheel, so I could run a 180 rear tire, like Harley did in 09. And raked the front slightly so I could run a larger front wheel. And changed the tank to a six gallon tank, because that's what Harley did the following year, and I didn't want a five gallon gas tank when all my riding buds had six gallons. I guess the wheels, pistons, gas tank, seat, exhaust, handlebars, and windshield are aftermarket, along with some of the brakes and control cables. And a few other things. And it's in a custom color.

Most everything else is stock, though.

Mike,

Too funny!

love what you did to your stock road king cop, I mean stock ultra, I mean stock Street Glide, I mean stock Road Glide, I mean stock Harley-Davidson Motorcycle!

Your bike looks great!

Totally happy..certainly no more engine work. It runs and rides just as i want.
8500 miles on it now and I couldn't be happier. Bone Stock just didn't cut it for me.

Good on ya for the stock option. I have 2 friends that trade every 2 years and they keep them factory stock. It's all good.
As a PS....I also went with the SE Heavy Breather...didn't want you to think I was stupid and forget the AC.

Maybe the O/P just likes poor performing, ill handling, lean running motorcycles that get lost in the sea run of the mill bikes. I don't, but if we all liked the same thing the world would be a very boring place.

Mods are cool, but why do so many owners follow the same trend?

To Quote Monty Python:

" We are ALL Individuals"

Many trends are driving by fashion, marketing and what's available , like inexpensive CNC machine made billet stuff accessible.

Look at a bike with a peach frame, turquoise scallops and billet everything and that means you stepped out of the time machine in 1991

many of the "looks" riders rage for very much date the machine, some looks have timeless appeal...others might have a peach colored frame

Davidsons need to be race tuned to run the way they were MEANT to run, not the way the @$#%^&(! Gummint says they should run.

Looks much better without that big hunk 'o' plastic behind the A/C cover anyway.

Stock is boring. Much like short hair on a hot babe.

Stock means the way it came off the showroom floor. ANYTHING else added to it takes it out of the stock catagory. Not a hard concept to follow. There are varying degrees of customization.

If he did, why did he buy a Harley? Uh, wait a minute, you mean Harleys are poor performing, ill handling, lean running motorcycles?
