14 CVO Road King or 14 SGS?
I am having such a hard time trying to figure out which bike I want to purchase. By the time I get the Street Glide where I want it the price will be almost the same between the 2 bikes.
I am being swayed by the fantastic looks of the CVO but my mind is telling me the functionality of the Street Glide makes more sense. I had a 05 CVO Fat Boy and it was the most uncomfortable bike I have ever ridden. I don't want to go down that road again, but the CVO I'm considering should be comfortable? I had until the last day of Dec to get a real good deal on the CVO but just could not drop 29k and not be sure I was making a sound decision. The dealer e-mailed me today and extended my deal for the CVO this month. Could you guys chime in hear and tell me why you would pick one over the other? I would love to put this to bed as I have been beating this dead horse for too long!!! |
Problem solved Buy them both

This may be a start: Yes or No to a fairing and stereo system ??
|
I had a CVO Breakout and I can honestly say I missed the music! I like the look of the CVO Road King, but for $28K, I'd want tunes!

Aside from the cosmetic differences and the 110" engine in the CVO, the bikes are identical in terms of frame/geometries.
You need to determine whether or not you want a fairing. The RK is the more flexible bike in terms of configurations. Fairings aren't for everybody... |
If a stereo is important to you, then it's the SGS. I'm a King guy because I don't care about having music on my bike. Only you can answer this one.

It comes down to whether you want a fairing or not and if you care about resale value because if you put a lot of money into the street glide you will not get any of it back if you ever sale it or trade it in.

I went with the CVO RK because of the versatility. Also, everyone and their mother has a SG. Just my 2 cents! Do you care to have music?

The best of both worlds MP3 player/Ipod

I had a RKC and the bike is absolutely my favorite of the Harley line in terms of looks. And, I think the CVO really takes it over the top. Having said that, once I drove a bike with a fairing on a long ride, I can't live without it. So, if you are putting around town with the occasional 200 mile ride, get which one turns you on. If you are doing longer rides, get a fairing bike.
Also, go rent a RK and a SG and decide then. For years I thought I would not like an Electra glide. I rented on on vacation and bought one the day I got home. |
