I went to clean up my bike today because I was going to do a little riding tomorrow and look what I see. It's the green "leak detection dye" that the dealer put in when they were trying to locate my leak.

Either you still have a leak or someone pissed on your bike!

It works.
See...they know their stuff.

Well,.... the dye was put in before the last thermostat housing replacement. This has been going on since September. My patience is really running low.

Last I heard the thermostat housing just a bad design or something and nearly all the bikes are going to experience this either now or down the line.

Also heard that Harley and the thermostat manufacturer are working on a new version. So... you can keep bringing it back for replacement with another soon-to-fail part or just ride it. Or park it...

I emailed the pics to the service manager and he acknowledged that its leaking. He said that the thermostat housing that I have on now was just installed and he said he is going to have to call his area Harley service rep on advise on what to do now.
I've had some type of leak ever since September. This is really getting old. I think Harley should rename the 14 Limited's to Project Leaksmore.
I really want to love this bike but, I bought my Harley to ride and not to sit in a shop or in my garage waiting on a fix that Harley may finally come up with someday.

Harley needs to talk to the japanese so they can figure out how to successfully implement liquid cooling on these bikes. This is ridiculous. Bikes at this price point should be solid in the cooling system. It's not rocket science. Just no excuse really. Hope you get it fixed.

One thing that really upsets me is that Harley says that this "leak" is not a safety issue and that it does not affect the value or enjoyment of my bike, BUT,... that they are working to resolve the issue. They have not even offered me a loaner through my whole ordeal, which has been going on since September.

Mine is back at the dealer now, first time for the leak issue. I know this is not the answer but why not ride it, unless you're going long distance the coolant probably wont completely leak out and even if it does, everyone I've talked to (including the dealer) said it's O.K. to ride without coolant, it just becomes an air cooled Harley. When mine comes back I'll carry a quart of coolant with me and top off if needed but I bought it to ride and that's what I intend to do. Easier than bringing it back to the dealer 3 or 4 times...eventually HD will fix it and then we'll all be good...safe riding!
