Default Air filter replacement

I currently use the Screamin' Eagle Hi-Flow air intake with filter part #29702-08A on a 2014 FLHXS. The filter paper itself is pink in color. I am looking for an identical filter with the paper color in gray. I've been unsuccessful in locationg one whether in the automotive or motorcyle parts realm. Does anyone here know if such a filter exists? Thanks in advance.....

It will turn gray eventually.

I just spoke with K&N over here in the UK about that. I also have a Screaming Eagle filter (which is made by K&N apparently). and I thought I'd ask them about getting a filter from them (same filter, different box, cheaper price, right?)

Although the person I spoke to didn't confirm that Screaming Eagles are K&Ns, she did say that when K&N do make filters for another company to sell, quite often they will have an agreement that K&N will not directly sell that special filter. So although it come out of a K&N factory, it's in a Harley-Davidson box and only Harley can supply it.

Anyway - why is the colour of the filter medium important to you?

I guess the color bothers me due to the contrast it causes with the color of my bike. I know I'm being rather fussy, but I don't like the look of keeping the rain sock on. That pink color sticks out "like a sore thumb".

the reason it's pink is the K&N oil that's used on it. When you wash it, it turns white-ish again. Then you oil it and it's pink again.

Not sure I've ever known anyone to make a grey oil for filters.

Sounds like he is looking for a paper filter instead of the gauze filter K&N uses. The K&N is oiled which makes it pink and is reusable. If you find a paper filter for it you will not be able to reuse it.

Ohhh! You have an air filter with an exposed medium! That makes sense.

The Screaming Eagle filter I have is grey (mostly black now) but sits behind the stock "football" air cleaner cover.

I keep my black rain sock on for the "color" reason.

Try Wimmer Machine. I put one of their Better Sucker intakes on my Deuce. It came with a blue filter. They make them in different colors.
