Default 2005 Electraglide Classic Cruise Control question

Hi I just bought today an '05 Electra Classic. I would like info on how to install cruise control on it. It has a throttle lock on it, but I would like to have electric cruise control. Any help would be great. Sorry if this is a dumb question....but it's my first Harley. Thanks!

Not a dumb question at all. But unfortunately the kit you need part number 77196-04 is obsolete from Harley!
You may look at http://www.cruisemount.com/ they may have what you need.
It's a little on the pricey side $795.00

Here is a link to the original install instructions so you can see what is involved.

And welcome to the forum

I will +1 the Cruisemount recommendation. When I bought my '05 in Sept '11 it was the only option. I called dealers, I searched EBay, I couldn't find it anywhere else. Their kit is identical to what harley sold but is more expensive since they piece it together from individual new parts. It takes a couple of hours to install but was well worth it.

I found one for my 02 Electraglide on EBay for 100.00. They seemed to be plentiful at the time. The trickiest part is getting the new switches for it as you will have to order new housings for the bars. Do you have stereo controls on your bars now? Your going to need some part numbers and nimble fingers to get your switches set in the new housings and then pull your wiring thru the bars. Keep in mind too that there's the on/ off console switch to be purchased...three switches in all. Two on the bar on the throttle side and then the console switch. The brains of the setup mounts on the low (left)side of the bike under the side cover and wires from there head to behind the fairing where it's plug and play
