Default Harley Delphi ECM question..

I use a Powercommander III USB piggy back on the Delphi ECM along with a 70 tooth rear pulley and a 30 tooth transmission sprocket.

Can the Delphi be programmed to compensate for the speedometer error? I am showing 10 mph higher on my speedo vs the Iphone GPS..

Thanks

To the best of my understanding, the only units that allow speedo calibration are flash tuners, like the TTS and the PowerVision...

Yes the Delphi unit can be reprogrammed. but your power commander III can't do it. You need a more expensinve flash tuner. Like Safetyman said.

Power Vision and TTS yes. SEPST and none of the HD tuners, PCV, and PCIII no. You will need to raise the calibration number about 260 for 10mph. Could tell you exactly if knew what bike it is and original gearing.

KE5RBD, the bike is a 2007 SG. The original transmission gear was 32 and the original rear sprocket was 66.

I know the Thundermax is capable of speedo calibration. But can the Delphi be reprogrammed with out be connected to the bike?

I seen a Youtube video where Zippers had a hardware/software set-up programming a Thundermax without connection to motorcycle? It would be convenient to drop off the Delphi to a HD dealership and change that single request.

With a flash tuner you can adjust the VSS. Use this formula to get it calibrated correctly.

New VSS Freq = (Original VSS Freq x Speedometer Reading)/Indicated GPS Speed.

To answer your question about dropping off at HD dealership and change the speedo, no they can't do that. The SEPST won't change it either. I know the TTS and Power Vision can change it. I would assume the Thundermax can also as it replaces the ecm. The old ratio was 2.79 and 2500 in 6th gives you 67.5 mph. the new ratio of 30 and 70 gives 3.157 and at 2500 you get 59.6 mph. You said it was off 10 mph. The difference here is 7.9 and the stock speedo is usually 2 mph fast so that is as close to 10 mph as it gets. The PV and TTS use the same numbers. The original calibration number is 2140 and the new adjusted number will be 2403. If yours is off like most I have checked by 2 mph fast you need to change the number to 2464. I think you are asking about a flash tuner PV, TTS, or Thundermax as you don't have to leave it on the bike. That combination should pep that 07 up considerably. I have the 30-68 combination on son in laws 12 FLHTK and am putting it on my 2010 FLHTK. I feel it is well worth the the cost to do this mod. It cuts down on the up shifting and down shifting in town and on the twisties a bunch.
