Question So, MOCO Hires You, What Would You Change or Design Diff?

You have been asked by HD to come and work for them on their touring bike line... project "Rushmore 2"

What changes would you make?

Design?

Colors?

Technologies?

Mechanical?

No, I do not work for HD. But after being on this Forum for sooooo long I groan when you read all the complaints regarding what they "shoulda" done better.

So let's keep this a positive thread - don't complain or bitch about how it is now or was - what things would YOU do differently?

What would you add?

What would you discontinue to offer as an option on a touring bike?

EDIT: Let's base it off of the 2014's.

Hoping to see some great ideas and thoughts on this....

id like to see them trim the weight down on the touring rigs. and tweak the v-rod so it could be a daily driver

Someone in another thread made a point that the two-tone options should be better. It will be interesting to see what other folks think should be other two-tone color options...

bring back the EGC...there is a need for a more basic bike. not everyone wants an infotainment center, heated seat, lowers, etc..

when the road glide is reintroduced it would have radiator built in fairing, no infotainment center, no lowers, full water-cooling, larger saddlebags and tour-box, better suspension, larger gas tank, and be the best damn touring bike available. there would be a luxury version under another name.

a v-rod with road-glide type fairing, saddlebags, an engine with more torque for touring, bigger gas tank--all properly proportioned.

next week i would....

Aluminum frame for Touring models.

Factory customizable orders to get the bike exactly like you want it from day 1. Wheels, seats, painted inner fairings, chrome front ends, etc...

Powertrain options from the factory, including cams, exhaust, etc.

I would make the touring bikes with engine options. The 110 and 120 would be options on all touring bikes.

I would also make different suspension options for all the touring bikes; standard and premium. The premium would have the monotube front suspension and adjustable rears.

I would also include a certificate for the owner to take the riders edge class with every new bike sold.

Purple or lime green would never, ever be a color options again on a touring bike. We would offer four solid color options a year, three two tone options a year and then a special order custom paint option that would be any color HD has for that model year(except purple and lime green). ie You could special custom order the Hard Candy colors offed that model year for your touring bike.

Lastly, I would bring back the Road King Classic.

I'd make all the things we buy after the sale (suspension, seats, bars, shields, grips, chrome, etc.) factory options, not dealer add-ons. It shouldn't be a $20k starter kit...

110 should be standard with 120 as an option
