'07 FLHRS who's done a 96" to 103" swap?
1 Attachment(s)
Cant' find it on here even tho I know it's probably here somewhere...I've got a low low mile '07 96" RK Custom with Vance&Hines Bagger 2 into 2's (love 'em), and a power commander V tune. I'd like just a little more. if the bottom end is the same, whats more reasonable? A SE 103" kit, or a cam swap? oh, and have you done it? Anybody? https://www.hdforums.com/forum/<a hr...ps491b09ec.jpg

SE makes a kit with 103 cylinders and pistons along with 255 cams. I installed that set in my bike and the dealer reflashed my ecm with a SE tune. Didn't bother with a Dyno it runs great.
When you go to the 103 its a good idea to have the compression releases put into the heads. I went with the stock HD CR's and their harness. I am sure your tuner will work just fine. |
thx, what it cost you?

Best & cheapest way to go is bore your cylinders to 103-107 pistons and easy-start S&S cams. Lots of shops can set ya up. I went with SE 103 cast pistons (stock), Andrews 54 cams and ARCs (your '07 is not wired for ARCs) on my '09 about 20,000 ago. Having the heads done now...

Find an Indy dealer in your area of So. Cal. and have them bore your cylinders out for
size pistons, 103 or 107. To many cams out there, so talk with the Indy, about the type of riding you do most. He can help pick that will work for you, with cams bigger is not always the best. GOOD Luck. |

Lots of good bagger builds out there 103,107 and many good cam choices. I also don't have a tuner and the dealer just downloaded a SE tune into my stock ecm, so it really worked out for me. |
Is there anything left after a big bore on a 96? Is the 103 barrel in the kit bigger too allow a 110" or dare I say, a 113?

It never ends. Just take and throw a 4-5/8 crank in and its a 120, etc. etc. |
Mine runs very well, and I'm happy with the build.
