Default Wow so much more power from 3K to 3.5 K RPM

I have always run my bike from 2.5K to 3K RPM thinking that it would be good
for the engine. However, looking at my stage 1 dyno results ( which I have had for three years)
it shows the bike is stronger from 3000 to 3800 RPM. So I started runing at these
RPMS and WOW, it is as if I now have a new more powerful bike. Is running at these RPMS bad
fro the bike?

The twin cams tend to love being run between 3 and 4k, the engine seems to sing in that range.

You would chit if you knew how they ran that motor to get everything dialed in....If it was bad running it at that speed, the damage was done then.

Your engine needs to be run hard from time to time. It's designed to be run up to the red line occasionally. It keeps the combustion chambers from getting gunked up.

The only thing you might not like is the lighter feel in the pocket book. It loves that octane.

Didn't know they liked higer RPM. Thought I was about to over rev mine at 3k. However; the dyno sheet does show max output around 3.5k, 72hp and 90tq. I'll run the rpm up on it occasionally, now.

Thanks,

SugsPa

Have sat in on two of my own and numerous other dyno's and haven't seen a problem. We've run bikes like that for years and never had any motor trouble, when we rode we rode hard not continuously but a pile more then anything other then a test bike would ever see on a Dyno. The bikes were rode hard but not beat and always well maintained. Four of the bikes had over 70,000 mi. before they were sold and the other three around 90,000 all of them Evo's. The thing to remember is as long as the motor has a load and its ran up around red line its a lot easier on it then to lug a motor at a lower RPM in a higher gear which will just beat them to death.
