I've just recently made the move to new HD technology after 39 years on my Shovel. I've got a Gorilla 8017 alarm on the Shovel, and I like it a lot. It's loud, has quite a few features and was easy to install. Can I install a Gorilla alarm on the 2010 Ultra or is there a wiring/computer reason not to do so? I've got the factory security but I can get in the bags, trunk, etc. when it's armed without setting it off and it's not sensitivity adjustable. Just wondering?
After viewing the installation video for the Series 8 alarm system, assuming the Series 9 differences are the smaller components, I can see no reason why it would affect any electrical component on your 2010 Ultra. The Gorilla System is totally independent as far I can see only puts out an audible alarm when in alarm. The Factory HD system can be made to alarm audibly with the addition of the alarm, but it also immobilizes the engine. Gorilla would only enhance the HD system IMO as the alarm seems to be more sensitive.
