Relief for numb hand
 

Been fighting carpal tunnel causing numb hand and thumb last 2 years. Usually starts within about 20 minutes of riding, use the cruise and shake hand out and keep a really light grip but still always an issue. Have changed grips bars etc no help, although the Yaffe Mb's sure help the back and shoulders. Finally ordered a set of qwi gloves a guy told me about, road today with wife on a nice long ride and amazed they really helped hand never went numb. Got the leather palm spandex backed fingerless ones very happy with how they worked.

Yeah, I know about this! I have found that the position of my wrist and hand makes a big difference. When resting my hand ( in my lap), I make sure it is in a slightly flexed position, as if I was holding the throttle closed. The cortisone injections helped me alot, but eventually I got the surgery--got tired of waking up with pain in the middle of the night!

Just sitting here wondering what to do. Been a PITA for too many years

wear wrist braces with splints when you sleep- it'll make a difference in your days.

vibrations in teh bars can be tuned in or out by tensioning the bushings- I find the stock rubber bushings transmit fewer vibrations than the polyurethane

a few changes in my work methods and tools has left me with good function- in 1999 I thought i was gonna have to have surgery...

I just went and got the surgery. It's not that bad. Of course I only got it done on my clutch hand, but my throttle hand needs it too. In the meantime, I just sleep with a wrist brace on until I get it done. That'll be another winter project eventually.

I changed my handle bars out to a set of ChromeWorks. The hand grip part of the bar is turned down just a bit more than the stock Road Glide or Heritage Bars are. That made a major difference in wrist problems.

Yea Im pretty sure it wont be too much longer till I give in and get cut. But like stated it will be a winter project when I do lol

Google "CrampBuster" I have CT and this was the solution.

Gel palm gloves work well. I'm to the point I ware them to do yard work. My hands are a mess. Years of broken finger and jammed knuckles are catching up with me.
