I tried to do the same thing. I figured if I'd put a jumper wire from low beam wire to high beam wire, both would come on! Not so!! I figured there must be a diode inside the sealed light itself not allowing current to travel to both ( high and low beam) at the same time! Got the idea from the trucklite after how I saw how there low and high beam works. Like stated earlier, AMPERAGE draw would have been minimal since they're LEDS.

Just went out and checked mine and the the daymaker 7" head light low and high beams do shut off when the other is on. The OP isn't asking about the spot light mod just the head light high/low beam on at the same time mod. First I've head of it?

I had the module installed a month ago by my Harley dealer on my 2012. It allows the running lights to stay on with the hi beams on my daymakers. Also, they can be switched off at my option when the hi beams are on so I can pass state inspection.

So its something in the daymaker. Yesterday I changed my headlight bulbs and both come on when brights are turned on

The projector style Daymaker that comes out on the new Ultras and Limiteds only burns one at a time. The low beam goes off when the high beam comes on. The reflector type Daymaker is different. The top half lights up for low beam and both top and bottom light up for high beam. Personally, I wouldn't take 100 of the projector type if someone was to give them to me. It's just not suited for motorcycle use. The reflector type is much better suited. It's not perfect because the high beam could be greatly improved upon but it is still the better of the two.

installed reflector daymakers 2 weeks ago...low beam stays on when high beam is on...and as someone said, the high beam isn't that great---but I feel that the low beam is better than stock high beam, so I'm extremely happy with them.
