Default Another street glide ape question

Been searching, this forum google etc. and before I order I want to make sure from someone who has the apes themself. I originally ordered the Paul yaffe 10" classic bagger apes for my 07 street glide. Ordered plus 6 throttle, idle, and clutch. Didn't order the brake. But now after looking I don't want to lose my fairing mounted mirrors so I'm gonna order the 12's. So I'll get the plus 6 brake cable also to be safe. I don't plan on internally wiring them. So do I need the wire extensions or will the stock wires work? Any advice or info would be helpful.

pretty sure the stock wires barely reach a 10" bar setup so at 12" i'd say probably not

I did 12" monkey bars on my '09 SG. Plus 4 brake and +6 clutch. If you go with magnum cables make sure you order the extended top line and a midline. Did not extend wires. Had to relocate plugs under the radio. If you don't want to do that, extend the wires. Pull the stock wires and extend after you pull. Much easier. Either cut out the TBW green plug or get the SE TBW.

Although not a street glide, I do have fairing mounted mirrors. I went 14" Hill City Cycle bar kit and have no blockage of the mirrors whatsoever. However, the grips are quite a bit higher than the fairing. The bars are actually closer to a 16" than 14".

Why would you go to the trouble of changing bars and not internally wire them and clean up that cluttered look?????
By the way...12's aren't gonna clear your mirrors either.

I have the 12's and I can use my fairing mount mirrors fine. That is the reason I went with them. I did not have to extend my wires.

And you also have MBB's which measure close to 14". The ones he is looking at aren't as high even tho they are both 12's. The 12's will clear enough to use the mirrors but not without moving your head to do so.

Pretty sure his 2007 doesn't have TBW, that started in 2008.
