When I first got mine I thought they were a bit on the quiet side so I wanted to remove my baffles as well, called RC and they said give it 1000 miles then decide. Waited and they really opened up and am more than happy now. Also if you put head pipes on it changes the sound of them 100%

Lose The Cat
Not sure what sort of bike / exhaust set up we're discussing here. I just pulled the SE slip-on "Night Stick" and manifold of my '10 FLHX -- the one year HD went with a 2 into 1 manifold/exhaust.
There's a company online that will send you a "de-catted" manifold in exchange for your cat manifold in good condition. Basically they're taking the stock manifold, cutting it open, removing the cat, re-welding and re-plating. If you're going to lose the cat, you need time on the dyno, a tuner and Stage I intake or equivalent.
Two years of looking into options, I decided on Vance & Hines Power Duals, 4 1/2" Monster Rounds. This requires dyno and the $500 HD SE Tuner (NOT the one for CA!)
Shop spent the day installing, tuning. In at 10 AM, out at 6 PM when they closed. Dyno requires engine cooling and several "runs."
$2,379.80 out the door. Dyno read-out shows 75 hp and 85 lbs torque. This is about 25% gain on a 96" TC w/ SE Stage I intake.
Sounds like a Harley now, but also much better performance (mostly in acceleration), and the engine runs cooler without the cat. Best $$$ I've spent on this bike, and I've spent a lot of $$$.
