I was just trying to help ya out man, no need to get the vag in an uproar. no matter how many times you say your oil boils in your engine block is not gonna change the fact that THERE'S NO WAY IT DID, DOES OR EVER WILL! I will offer an apology for my comment, and hope you accept it. BUT IT STILL DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT YOUR WRONG AND NOW MORE THAN EVER, LOOK STUPID!

ps I know you never said the oil was 500 degrees. but if your oil(and anyone elses oil)was boiling it would be over 500 degrees........

I agree: who should you believe, the of engineers who spend thousands of hours designing, building, testing, analyzing, etc. - or the salesmen/mechanics who make a living selling oil & service.

It's your time & money & if it gives you peace of mind great, I get it.

I change all 3 every 5K also, I don't believe I have to change primary & tranny every 5k, I just figure while I'm at it I'll just do it so I don't forget.

Default Routine every season

I change all three holes every season some years I only put on 3k and others 7k I use mobil1 and k&n oil filter with no issues at all. Running NGK iridium plugs also. I will say the trans fluid always comes out clean. The next dirtiest is primary then engine oil is black but not thick. Never any particles on drain plugs magnets.

I do all 3 plus filter every year in the fall with SYN3. It may be overkill but it can't hurt. The oil gets costly but I buy it by the case.

Let's not forget the filter is a bigger part of the puzzle than we give it credit. Going 5K on an oil change as recommended by Harley is no big deal with a good dino or synthetic oil. The oil filter has a big job of filtering out the bigger stuff. Hell, with a good synthetic, you could probably change out the filter at 5K and leave the oil in for another 5K and be just fine. But stop and go, bar to bar, heavy throttle to the next stop light, winter blues, most oil's take a beating. In my Cessna, it sits longer between uses than my Harley does and I use the same Mobil 1 in it and never worry about changing it out before 50 hours as recommended by the engine manual.
