Redefining physics are we? Harley spec'ed oil has a boiling point of somewhere around 176C at sea level. If you are running that hot, you got other issues and changing the oil every 3k is not going to help at all.

Me? I try not to pretend I am smarter then the engineers designing the motors and change my own oil at their recommended levels. In the same regard if a doctor told me to take a pill three times a day, I do not take it 5 times a day thinking I am smarter.

Lot of hotel rooms can be had by doing such as well.

 

I've been know to service all 3 holes on occasion.

Every 5k for all three here. Might as well do trans and primary if I'm getting dirty anyway, plus its easier to keep track that way and they are the cheap "holes".

 

I change my engine oil every 5,000 miles. I change the transmission and primary every other oil change. I have 63,000 miles with no problems.

My last oil change at 4k my trans oil looked the same as when i poured it in 4000 miles ago... Will do it every other oil change from now on..

 

You mean the oil is supposed to be changed??!

 

I am fond of servicing three holes devices as well. Two hole devices are never allowed over here.
