Default i need bolt torqe specs help

can some one look in their service manual and tell me the bolt torque on the bolts that hold the rocker covers down.

Also is there a specific pattern to tighten them down? Helping a friend install the burst rocker covers Monday.

Thanks.

Check the instructions for the covers. Most of the time HD puts the torque specs in the paperwork with replacement parts.

15 to 18 foot #s. Do middle 2 first starting in rear then rear left and the front right then front left and rear right. Use blue locktite one drop

So you got your info. Damn Skippy, if you're going to work on your bike, go spend some money & purchase a HD Manual.

Poor ole Skippy is helping a friend and not working on his bike. Probably doesn't matter.

totally agree - the person asked for specs -- provide the specs -- or move on

I tend to ignore the trolls. Thanks for the info from everyone who contributed positively.

The trolls on this forum and the other HD forums have truly caused a lot of heart-ache. I know when I had my honda I could go to a forum for advice/help on issues. This was even after I had a service manual and just needed wisdom on how to do something out of the ordinary.

I purchased my Road King and tried to find some advice on how to check my fluids and was berated for "Not buying a service manual" first thing. I did buy a service manual later, but I was hoping to at least get some help with routine checks/maintenance from some of the forum locals. I wound up having to pay a Harley mechanic to show me how to do some of the basic checks I needed to do as the forums were full of "buy a manual/we don't want to help anyone who doesn't know." This hurt pretty bad for a while as I do most of my own work on my truck and bike. Sometimes a simple picture, or write-up can save someone a lot of heartache and pain.

I don't see this kind of trolling or bashing on any other forum I visit, only on the Harley Davidson related forums. We need to come together as a community and help each other out, not bash one another.
