I just replaced my tank console with the fat baggers low profile dash and pop-up vented gas cap on my ultra. The gas cap came with a flat rubber seal and a slotted thicker rubber seal on the cap. When i put the cap on with both seals it does not sit flush but when i remove the slotted seal it does. Any one know if the slotted seal is necessary? the console sits flush to the tank and the gas inlet is flush with the top of the console.

 

I experienced the same thing, what I've been running is the flat gasket only, as the cap seals against the rubber grommet on the dash. Probably could get away without any gasket at all.

 

Thanks, I will try just the flat gasket. Riding today i noticed the smell of vapors from the cap as well. I guess thats the whole vented cap thing, but with the vapor hose still intake on the tank, i may pick up a non vented and run with that!
