Default Finally installed my Reckless fairing

Finally got around to installing my Reckless fairing. Its been a long road getting this done and I will say that I do not think too much of their customer service. I got the fairing painted. When I received it I did not open the package for a couple weeks. Guess what? They wrapped it tight in large bubble wrap and it etched into the clear. I called them and they would do nothing about it. I would have to pay to have it redone. I tried wet sanding it out and it was too deep in. I looked around for local body shops to repaint it and it was a fortune because of the price of the paint. I had no other choice but to send it back and pay again. This sucked because I do not feel it was all my fault, and if I should have unwrapped it right away the blame/cost should be shared. But they did nothing and charged me full price to redo. Not even a discount. RANT DONE

I did modify my brackets after talking with member 2004Sierra (Thank You). The fairing stuck up higher than I liked so I re-drilled the brackets to move it down a little more than 1/2" and back a hair more than 1/4". It's as low as you can go. If you look at the pictures you can see its pretty much sitting right on top of my headlight. Moving it back also made it look more factory. The windshield is a LRS 8" with recurve. Took a 130mile ride today and it was great. One other thing...who the hell designed the driving lights and how you remove/adjust them. What a pain.

Looks great man! A 9/16" long socket with a cutout is trick to adjust those aux/driving lights.

It looks great! It's unfortunate that you had issues with them......don't feel badly you were not the first or the last.

I like mine too.
Fairing for cold weather rides, keeps the hands warm.
I still prefer my windshield in the summer, what a nice nacelle.
And, I could easily design a dozen different ways to do the passing lamp adjustments, the current design is just down right crazy.

Looks great, but I'm kind of partial - we have nearly twin bikes!

Just like a lot of companies on the forums you hear good and bad. I'm quite pleased. I did a "best offer" on eBay and they accepted so I immediately started stressing that they'd pick up a less than stellar fairing to send me since I didn't pay much. It came pretty perfect, sent it off to the paintshop and it is more than perfect. Will get around to aligning it better like you did, mine just looks kind of up /forward too much. I'm happy overall.
