Default 07 Ultra rear brake switch

Riding last Sunday friends noticed brake light not working correctly. After I got it home found that foot brake had no brake lights. Figure that's the switch, but would it cause the cruise to not disengage with footbrake pedal too?? Also when changing the switch is it necessary to drain brake fluid?? Front hand brake still has brake lights and disengages cruise control. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks Scott

Thanks Scott
if either of your brake light switches are faulty it will lead to brake light and cruise control issues.

as stated above, no you do not need to drain the fluid or bleed your brakes. simply have the new switch in hand when you pull the old one off and immediately screw it back in the socket.

The brake light switch is in the brake line near the front of the rear swing arm. You will probably need to bleed the brakes after replacement.

Every time I replace a inline brake component I always bleed the brake system afterwards. Any time you break open a closed system air is introduced in to the system. So. I recommend bleeding the brake system after replacement of the brake light switch. It does not take long and you are assured your brakes are operating at optimum performance. Which you may be thankful for.
