rear shocks on 2015 RG / RG special question

Anyone know what the difference is between the rear shocks on the new RG and the RG special?
Can't seem to find specific info on the exact differences between the 2.
Thanks.

Believe the RG comes with air adjustable shocks while the RGS has the Premium Hand Adjustable (better) shocks.

One compensates for load with an air pump the other with a hand knob.

Thanks that's good to know.

Do you know if they are 12" or 13" shocks, and how much travel they have?

I'm riding 12" shocks. If you get the air shocks, you should replace them ASAP. If you get the premium shocks, you're good to go. Count on $500 or so if you are upgrading aftermarket.

Same hand adjustable 12" shocks that first came stock on the CVO hot rod baggers.

Better then the stock 12" air shocks.

Thanks. If they are 12" then I think I'll be looking for an after market shock pretty quickly. Not much comfort in 2" of travel.

Check with your selling dealer.

IF, they are cool. See about trading up for the 13" Hand Adj. Shocks, as I believe they are priced the same, and do this prior to taking delivery.

Just a thought.

I'd look for a used set of the premium adjustable shocks. The price went up $50 this year to $549. There are a few sets on ebay right now. One set is with 22 miles that came off of a 2015 Street Glide. $299 BIN with free shipping.

And they do make a difference. I put the 12" adjustables on my 2013 RG Ultra and the difference was night and day. Even with the 1" less of travel over the stock air shocks.
