the t-bracket is for the solo sest . The solo sest should have 2 holes on both sides of where the seat mounts to the t-bracket, 2 screws go through the brackets on the pillion and screws into the solo sest. If you look at the pic of the big sest I have posted you'll see how they marry together, the other pillion is the same. You don't use the t-bracket when you use the pillion with the solo sest but you can leave it on the bike minus the acorn nut from the solo sest. Hope this helps,

Here is the smooth pillion I bought, in my 2008 Road King. Just in case anyone is looking, the Danny Gray passenger pillion fits with the Harley Brawler solo seats. I am extremely happy with this, and Racin is a great seller!
