I just purchased these two items feeling that they would be as comfortable as my previous Le Para Route 66. Well they do make for a comfortable ride but the ridge around the Sundowner puts too much pressure on my bad hip and causes pain for me earlier than the Le Para did. I want to sell these and purchase another Route 66. The Sundowner is part number 52000128 and was purchased from Surdyke at $296.16, it has been rode for a couple hundred miles. The Mustang backrest is part number 79610 and was purchased from a member here at HD Forums at $165.00, it is in near new condition. I will take $400.00 for both shipped. As you can see in the pic the backrest lines up and fits the Sundowner very well.

 

I have both the sundowner and Mustang backrest. How does the back rest fit in a sundowner seat? I thought the backrest will only fit a Mustang seat?

Just checked my Sundowner its just a slot with no reciever. How are you making this work?

 

The backrest has a receiver (similar to the HD backrest) that mounts to the frame under the seat.

 

I have a reworked heated CVO Seat with a Mustang Backrest, love it.
The bracket looks like this.

 

interesting...didnt know they made a receiver. A lookup only shows bracket and seat together. Any links to just the backrest?

yes but very little. I would say a half inch back and a half inch lower
