My son lost his left leg above the knee in a MC accident in 02/13.
He purchased an 03 Harley with a factory side car, and added
a Klicktronic from SOCAL (sp) in California I believe.
He is happy with the unit and with SOCAL service, maybe if I
remember it was 12 or 13 hundred.
He has had a little trouble with the shift from first to second,
and I am thinking he has told me he has to Klick twice to
get thru neutral and into second.
He and my GS did some extensive research, and went with
the Klick. As I remember, if need be the Klick can be overhauled
by the factory.
Hope this helps, if I can answer any questions for you, I will
enterface with him and get back to you..................Tenn.

Back in the early days of the pingel electric shifter, I tried on my Ironhead drag bike. Pingel went out of their way to help me get it working. They changed the buttons to the larger air shifter type, talked to me on the phone while I was adjusting it to shift properly. It was designed for the newer short throw shifting, not the older long throw tyrannies like the Ironhead has. It all worked out and worked flawlessly. I use other products they have. They are top of the line.

My opinion.
Based on my own use of their system, other people in our situation I know and have talked to, and all the info I have been able to find on these two systems, my strong preference is for the Klicktronic.
I have also spoken with these people both via emails and on the telephone, and have found them very responsive, informative, and cooperative. My questions were related to a different shift button assembly they have available, and not due to any problems with their product.
They definitely represent their product well.
From all I have found, the Pingle is more widely sold and I believe the prices for each are close to the same.
Which ever way you decide to go, stay away from the air-shift systems, all that I talked to said the electric systems are far more trouble free and reliable.
Best of Luck, See Ya down the road.
