Freewheeler And Two Up Riding

Silly, you can tour on a Sporster! Only difference between the Tri and Free is some extra goodies ( which I prefer)! Ultra vs Roadking....I know my passenger wouldn't like the backseat on either a Free or Roadking ( compared to an Ultra).
If you don't want or need a Radio, CB radio, tour top box, arm rest, fairing, cruise (not sure the Free comes with that)....then a Freewheeler may be you ticket! Your money, buy what YOU like!
Me personally, I like all the above stuff, I wouldn't be happy with a Freewheeler...but that's me! I'm still looking for the air conditioner button!!!

I changed seats on my FW after a 6 hour round trip to Washington, DC. I purchased the Sundowner seat and added a Tourrest arm rest to add to the detachable backrest.
BTW, the FW does have cruise control.
It's rare that I can get out by myself anymore since I made those changes. My wife wants to go for rides even more now than ever before. We even go to the grocer on the FW. All of our purchases fit into the trunk. Costco is usually out of the question.

Turns on a trike put lateral force on rider and passenger. The TriGlide has a wrap around, that keeps the passenger in place. Not so on the Freewheeler. So, it would be less comfortable than riding a TriGlide, or a two wheeler that puts more down force during turns to keep the passenger in place.
So, yeah, it can be done, but not the best for 2-up touring IMHO. YEMV...

After reading your comment I started looking into getting the Tourrest for my FW as well but don't see the FLRT listed on their site. Can you send a photo of what it looks like on your freewheeler? Also, is the sundowner passenger seat much wider than the stock? It shows 11 inches which is just about the same as my stock one. Thanks
