Here is about 6 years of GoPro videos and stills from rides we have taken. The early ones are with a Beta version, the inventor is the son-in-law of the inventor. We get freebies whenever there is a new version... or we did, haven't received the new 4 yet. The GoPro is mounted to the handlebars via a RAM mount. I've had the camera mounted on Ultras, Tri-Glides, and now my freewheeler. I don't care for the helmet mount, I look around too much so the video is very choppy. Good Luck and happy picture taking.
Oh, I took an old iPhone, loaded the GoPro App and can use it as a viewfinder, and have full access to all the modes of the camera.

I'm going to try this Goose Neck http://shop.gopro.com/mounts/goosene....html#/start=1
and mount it on my inner faring just to the side of the windshield on my EG.
Should allow enough room to push it out in front so I can adjust the camera to shoot either left or right.
The mounts will eventually fail and break due to vibration, we ran them on a couple KLR's on a trip to Alaska and the one I had mounted on the front of the faring broke twice, another on my sons crash bar broke in less than a day.
Buy some of those stick on retainers, in case you don't notice when they come loose.

Ram Mounts. Been using them for years for GPS, Cameras, GoPro, etc. They have something for pretty much any device and configuration (cars, motorcycles, .... the list goes on). https://www.rammount.com/products/camera/gopro_purchase
