Default FP3 on sale $299.95

http://www.directcycleparts.com/ has the FP3 tuner on sale for $299.95. That is the lowest price I have found. If you have been thinking of getting one take a look at the site.
I am not connected with them in any way as a disclaimer. I ordered mine this morning.

Yep, same here. I know the PV might be a better tuner but for this 70 year old guy, I am happy with it. Mount my Iphone on the handle bars and can check engine temp or ride in econo mode if I am not in a hurry. It does quite abit. I just autotune a good map and go for it. Got all of the power I need.

I have a PV and could have just bought a new license for $200. I decided this time out I didn't want to fool with wires. I like the size of the unit and that I can mount it with a zip tie behind the left cover and leave it connected to the bike.
I also like the fact the autotune will pick right up where you leave off when you shut down the bike. The whole idea just seemed simpler and easier to use. That's what I am about these days.
There is a setting in the maps for a stock HD set up. I'll use that and see how it runs before I do anything else to the trike.

Received my unit this morning and was very impressed, both with the size of the tuner and the speed in which I received it. Directcycle parts ships pretty quickly. First thing I had to do was download the iphone app for fp3. Then I downloaded 3 firmware upgrades. I got it connected to the phone via Bluetooth and loaded maps. I found the HD stock map and installed it. When I went to flash the ECM it uploaded the stock map to the server for storage.
I zip tied the unit behind the left cover and will leave it there until the auto tune runs are done.

Now I am ready to do a autotune run.

I did 4 auto tune runs and flashed the map. This thing couldn't be easier to use. I still only have less than 300 miles but first tank got me 33 MPG. For an engine not broken in yet I don't think that is too bad.
Going on a 4 day trip next week by that time I may have to get the 1K inspection done somewhere on the road. I'll keep track of my mileage until then.

It is married to the bike and I believe it can only be used on the one bike.

Used on one bike or married to that bike. The unit can be removed once tuned. But if you want to use it in real time as you are riding while you watch your temp or fuel mileage and etc on your iphone, then it needs to stay plugged in. I have a Ram mount for my Iphone and when I want to see whats going on, just mount it and go. Plus I use the Iphone for a lot of music that I want to hear.
