TriGlide Rear Shock Replacement Procedure
Before I ordered the Progressive rear shocks, I thought I'd check out the install procedure in the TriGlide service manual supplement. So, the first step, for my 2012...is remove body!! Really??
Has anyone done this themselves? Did you really need to remove the rear body??

No you don't have to remove the body. You have to get the Trike in the air high enough that you can get under it and reach up to get at the top shock bolt though. If you use a air ratchet on the upper bolt don't back it out with the ratchet so far that the ratchet gets caught between the bolthead and the trike body. Theres not enough room to back the bolt all the way out with the air ratchet. You'll want to use a open end wrench the last half.

I haven't had any issues with leaking air after 3 years. But, if you go on the Progressive Suspension site, they have airless shocks as well.

There was a thread a while back on this. I installed the Progressive 444-4020B black 13" heavy duty. Put three turns preload and haven't touched them. Also mount them upside down so you can get to the adjuster if need be....

That sounds like what I'm looking for. Should be no reason that won't work on a freewheeler. Thanks guys!
