First long trip on trike
Had our trike for about 16 months now and we finally got to take a trip longer than 4 hours away. We traveled about 1350 miles overall. Not a drop in the bucket compared to what some of you do, but was long in our eyes. We have some friends in Nashville, TN we wanted to visit. Left Sunday and stopped in Memphis for a few days, went to Beale Street, Bass Pro Pyramid, and Graceland(had to keep the Elvis fan wife happy).
Left for Nashville Wednesday. Friends rented a Triglide and we headed south. Rode the Natchez trace parkway until it was closed for repairs at about Hohenwald. Went across country from there to the west and stayed the night in Clifton at the Bear Creek Inn. Meandered back Northeast to Nashville on Saturday so they could get their rental back to Boswell Harley by 3:00. We pulled in there at 2:58. We enjoyed the whole side trip with them, but the roads off of the Natchez trace were much more scenic and enjoyable than the Trace itself. Took the whole 500 mile trip home yesterday(Sunday) so we could relax today before starting the whole work grind again. With all the butt relieving stops, it took us 11 hours to ride the 500 miles home. Only got wet twice. Once up and once back.
Wish we could have stayed away longer.
Just a side note. Boswell was fine to deal with, but the man giving the instructions on how to operate the trike was a bit uninformed(Youngster in my eyes). I ended up giving our riding friend and the dealer rep a lesson on the trike. He acted offended that a trike was rented instead of a two wheeler. To each his own.

THAT IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT!! Vesta (wife) and I usually do 2 or 3 long rides a year. We are both retired. There has been times we took off in the middle of the week with no destinations planned. Find what looks like an interesting road and start riding. The longest we have been out was 3 weeks, usually about 10 to 15 days. You found the magic in your bike
