Im running the same on the tries ...I weigh 200+ - I find with under 30 lb in the shocks they will bottom out when i hit a sharp bump...And i still 'since 2011 haven't found the sweet spot... They are what they are ''crap''....

I've been all over the place in the last year with my pressures. Currently I have about 25psi in my rear tires and my air shocks are set between 42 and 44. My local roads are almost 100% bump free and these numbers work pretty good for riding single or 2-up.

Heading out for summer travels and may make some adjustments along the way depending on what state I am in. Bottom line is a TG with OEM suspension is a rough ride compared to almost anything on 2 wheels.

Small amounts in the change in shock air pressure can result in big changes in the ride. I know that Kevin (DK Custom) recommends changes in 1-2 lbs of PSI up and down from your starting pressure and going over the same road, same speed and load to see the results...

Myself? I got sick and tired of trying to find the "sweet spot" with shock/tire pressure so my bride wouldn't get jarred around so much. I finally replaced the OEM shocks with a set of Progressive 444s and Momma is very happy!! I know there are better shocks out there for the TG but these fit my budget and the results were very good.

Good luck with your search for the ideal shock pressure...

Cheers
Doug

Don't know about Tri Glide, guess they are a little heavier.I have a Freewheeler run 36 in front tires,22 in rear tires.I weigh 195 and have shocks at 20 and if wife rides they are set at 35.Works well for us.

As little as 2 psi can make a difference...but you are only going to get so good of a ride out of the stock shocks. You can add a Comfort Lift which will soften things up a bit...absorbing more of the bumps. See details at this LINK.

You can also get some real shocks, they can make a HUGE improvement in the ride.

Here is a REPORT on our testing of Rear Shocks.

Here is a REPORT on our testing of Front Suspension. Front suspension makes more of a difference in how smooth the Trikes feels AT the seat than most folks realize.

Quote from someone riding my Tri-Glide...

"I also rode Kevin's bike @ Kerrville as well. I was skeptical that the ride would be any different. I can second Robert's analysis. The ride was a absolutely different, approaching the ride and comfort ability of IRS. I was surprised."

Running 40 psi in my shocks on the TriGlide and love the results, so does the wife on the back.
