Default 2012 tri glide vs 2016 tri glide

Trying to figure out what is the better buy. A 2016 with bigger brakes, waterheads, integrated brakes, or a 2012 for 9k less but all out fitted with pipes, map, and a couple of other extras. How much of a difference is there, TIA for any input.

If the mileage on the odometer is reasonable on the '12, I'd go that route. Had a '12 trike & it was fine. I'm sure the '16 has more power, but that, and being twin cooled, doesn't mean much me to me. I didn't realize the difference in brakes, so better brakes would be a good thing.
Price would be also be an issue. Should be what, at least a $10k difference between the two? In this area of FL, used trikes bring a lot of money. To the point where if I was looking at a used '16 trike, shopping a new '17 would be in my plans.
Good luck. If you haven't owned a trike before, I think you'll enjoy it!

Water cooled heads = plumbing = more parts = more potential problems.
Runs cooler? Nope

I have a 2013 and I'd go with the 2012 without hesitation. $9K is a lot of money.

For me it would have to be about the miles. If that 2012 has less than maybe 40,000 miles I wouldn't shy away from it. If it has 60,000 or more and the 2016 doesn't hardly have any miles, I probably would go with the 16.
