Get to the dealer before warranty runs out.

 

I think (but I may be wrong) that he meant it was 6 weeks out of warranty or expired 6 weeks ago. I think I would still talk to the dealer and see if by chance they would help him. You never know until you try.

 

harley knows they are having problems with the pumps. i would call harley and pitch my story. alot of times they will help on something this close to the warrenty running out. and they should !

Strange timing on this issue.

After a multi-day trip, my cousin's '15 Tri-Glide started giving him problems with less than 13,000 on the odometer.
Thankfully he has the ESP but how far can your drive one of these trikes if the water pump is not working?

 

I had a similar problem with my 2015 trike with 2000 miles on it. Temp light would periodically come on and go off. My dealer first replaced the coolant temp sensor but that was not the problem. Water pump was working. It ended up being the thermostat. Hope this helps.

 

The dealer told my cousin that it was the "pressure pump" (water pump I assume).
Part won't be available until Friday.
Good thing he was able to get close to home or else he'd be charging some motel bills to the ESP.

 

My 15 is in shop right now, engine light and temp. light every once in awhile. Dealer said pump is fine maybe t -stat stuck going to put new one in , cheapest fix . He also said you could go with out pump only there for emissions , my 2015 does not run any cooler then my 2011 did.

 

The water head does nothing but cool around the exhaust valves mainly.
