Default Coolant Issue

If you have been following my threads, my morning bike when starts it hesitates I took it to the dealer yesterday and what a fiasco. Well they checked the electric system and the tech decided to replaced the regulator. For my trike 2017, they had to disconnect some hose from the coolant to installed the regulator. After they replaced the regulator, they have to purge the coolant system for air in the system and test drive the bike for 10 miles to ensure the coolant does not have any bubbles. Lazy dealer because the warranty paid them from the warranty, they test drove for 5 miles and I was told everything was okay. Left the dealer and after 3.5 miles in traffic my coolant/engine light came on. I called the dealer and was told that it was safe to ride it back to the dealer. Only the coolant/check engine light came on, not the oil lights. It took for the dealer to purge the coolant system 4 times and finally it worked. Rode today over 75 miles and the fan/everything sounds okay. My question should I change the oil, I am using Syn3 right now. The oil was changed at 1k service and I have 2100 miles. Btw I would not taking the bike again to this dealer. Short cuts because the warranty does not pay the full amount, the customer should not be at fault.

FWIW--

I hope, or at least suggest that you purchased the ESP on your Tri-Glide?
My cousin has a '15 and it's in a shop now (been there for over a week) on a coolant issue. Without a warranty, this could prove to be expensive.

If you had your oil changed at 1000 miles you're definitely not due for another oil change at just over 2100 miles.

Find a different (better) dealer and enjoy your new toy.

Thank you. Yes I have the 7 years ESP. I was asking about changing the oil because the bike ran hot for 4 miles, (oil light never came on) but we know that heat breaks the oil. I will stay away from this dealer.

All the coolant does is cool the area around the exhaust valves, the oil temp shouldn't have come up that far for such a short duration. So it should be OK

We took our tri glide out west, starting just after the 1000 mile oil change/checkup, and the selling dealer advised that if we ran into a lot of hot weather, a change at 3000 to 3500 might not be a bad idea with a new engine. And we hit it, 113 degrees on several days, so we pulled into the dealer in Salt Lake City to dodge the heat on the clogged interstate, and they had time to get us in for one at 3300. Only took an hour, nice folks. The tech said the oil wasn't in too bad of shape at that time, but confirmed that it was probably a good idea.

So if you think you really need to, go for it, but I doubt if the stress you put on it was anywhere near what we did.

Service oil interval is every 2500 miles after the 1k change. Since you have the 7 year service plan. Why wait for 5 k miles?

Are you saying that HD wants the oil changed every 2500 miles after the 1,000 mile change? I can't find that in my owners manual or factory service manual. What I see states every 5000 after the 1000. Does HD require this for an extended warranty? I don't have a problem with 2500 mile oil changes and that is when I change mine, well 2500 to 3000. Am I misreading something?
