New Front Tire

pre-mature tire wear
I am coming up on 7800 miles. New 2017 Tri Glide bought last year.
I hear where guys are getting 20K on their tires. It is true that I ride the twisties a lot in north ga and did the BPR right after I bought the bike. I am always two up. That accounts for 40% of my driving. The center tread is pretty thin. Should it be wearing this fast?
It is sad that I don't get to use the rubber away from the center line.
I have read where Trikers are putting rear tires on the front and running them backwards. I can understand that since front tire rarely sees axial loads. But I would think that I want a ribbed tire (similar to a farm tractor) since this is not a drive wheel. The core purpose of the front wheel is to direct the bike. Now the increased road contact is beneficial but the cross treads would probably affect tracking.
Bottom line - what is the best front tire for my TG? At 7800 miles, I'd like to ride this tire out to my 10K service check. Do you think I can get another 2200 out of it?
Also, when I bought the bike, I filled out a HD/Dunlap tire warranty registration card and registered it online. Is there any kind of meaningful warranty on HD/Dunlap tires? Do they prorate? Never heard of that but I did the registration anyhow.

I'm ordering the Avon Trike tire today, got 20K on my '14 original. We've got a 12 day trip coming up soon.
We have done a mix of low wear riding and maybe 5K of those 20 were on twisties. Around here it's flat as a pancake for 100 miles in most directions, and all roads are on a square grid; well, except thank goodness for having lots of river roads, they twist around a lot, so there is some fun available.
A lot has to do with the roads you ride, I used to go to work every day on my R1200RT with 9 miles of tar and chip roadway, wouldn't get over 6K on a rear tire.
